JDQ & Vancity Credit Union’s Strategic Partnership to Help Social Enterprises
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
An Invitation For Social Enterprises To Receive Expert Help In Improving Their Business Processes And PracticesVancity and JDQ Systems have formed an innovative partnership of a funder and
business improvement experts in order to help improve the performance and capacity of social enterprises.
This initiative, entitled “JDQ 3Spheres/Vancity: Strengthening Social Enterprise”, will offer business improvement expertise and financial support to a selected social enterprise in the lower mainland. Our goal is to help that social enterprise better achieve its financial and mission-related goals.
This collaboration is part of JDQ's highly successful 3Spheres of Reciprocity™ program. 3Spheres™ is JDQ's model for the development and sustenance of mutually beneficial relationships between the community, business and academia. It is a paradigm grown from the fundamental understanding that only through the symbiosis of the spheres of Helping, Profiting and Learning can we all thrive. JDQ is committed to a sustainable culture of Win-Win relationships.
Whatever your organization’s focus and challenges, JDQ's
process improvement methodologies can vastly help. As experts in quality systems, project management and software applications,
JDQ’s interventions result in improved efficiency, increased satisfaction, greater revenue and mission-related impact.
As part of its commitment to strengthening communities, Vancity supports the development of successful social enterprises that combine environmental, social or economic mission-related goals with revenue generation. Vancity invests resources in building individual social enterprises, strengthening the sector, increasing access to markets and creating an enabling environment.
Vancity will provide funding to the selected social enterprise to support the implementation of the business solutions identified by JDQ’s 3Spheres team of volunteers.
To be eligible for this opportunity, an organization must be:- A recipient of funding from Vancity and/or the Enterprising Nonprofits (ENP) program for social enterprise related activities (or have been a recipient in the past 5 years).
- Currently operating a social enterprise.
- Based in the Lower Mainland.

… and agree to the following:

- The project will be clearly defined with proscribed measurable outcomes.
- All participants in the project will sign a win-win agreement that clearly identifies goals and responsibilities.
- There will be no objection to JDQ and/or Vancity speaking about these experiences with others, including the media.
- The non-profit organization has the resources to fulfill such a project.
- The recipient will submit a short report on the outcomes of the project to JDQ/Vancity upon completion of the term of the initiative.
JDQ agrees to provide project management, leadership and the necessary expertise to fulfill the aim of the project. To that end, JDQ will ensure that the project is managed with the same rigor as any other JDQ project.
